“Lemons and Vinegar are powerful natural degreasers that have been around since ancient times and are safe for you and your family.
Lemons and Vinegar have been used for cleaning since Bible times. Vinegar as its name suggest “Sour Wine” was an accidental discovery when wine was over fermented. While the first vinegar was created with old wine, today vinegar can be made with anything that ferments well like fruits and grains, they simple need to be over fermented. When over fermented they create a chemical compound known as acetic acid which is used in a lot of commercial descalers and degreasers.
Combine the vinegar with cut up lemons and now you have a power house of lemon oils and vinegar. Not only does it work great but it smells good too. Lemon and Vinegar are great for cutting grease and cleaning up rust and hard water stains. They also have disinfectant properties and are frequently used by DIY moms as a natural and safe disinfectant.
Lemon Cleaner Recipe
Ingredients List
Vinegar
Lemons
1 Qt Mason Jar and Plastic Lid

Cut up and place as many lemons as you can fit into a qt. mason jar. We find one or two is usually enough. Now fill the jar with white vinegar. Next place the lid on the jar and shake. Make sure that you use a plastic lid not metal. You can get plastic lids at Walmart or off of Amazon. You will shake your jar once a day and keep it stored in a cool dark place for a couple of weeks. After two weeks you can smell and see how potent your vinegar is.
If you have the patience to wait at about week 4 or 5 your vinegar will smell like lemons with a hint of vinegar. You can use it straight from the jar or put it in a spray bottle. Spray on the surface you are cleaning and allow it to sit. Keep in mind that vinegar and lemons are not suitable for every service so do your homework first and make sure it is safe on yours. Keep your jar topped off with vinegar.
